Theba pisana, common names the white garden snail, sandhill snail, white Italian snail, and Mediterranean coastal snail.

• They may arrive dormant where their flesh is retracted in their shell. They just need a light rinse by running them gently under water for a few seconds, which will bring them out of hibernation. 

• Always wash your hands with soap and water after handling snails.
  
  Theba pisana thrive in tanks that are open-air or have low humidity and high ventilation since they like to explore their environment. The tank should be at least 10 gallons, using a terrarium substrate of 1-2 inches to provide a safe digging environment for them.
